Nevada, nicknamed the Silver State, is home to a wealth of treasures for outdoor explorers, families, or any visitor eager to be rewarded with eye opening experiences. In addition to its famous boomtowns, Nevada is home to beautiful backcountry. Over 110,000 square miles of mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers, and desert, make up the state. Activities include sand boarding, fishing, horseback riding, and hunting. Laughlin, located in the southernmost tip, is third in casino destinations after Las Vegas and Reno. Laughlin is very family friendly, due to its locale on the Colorado River. While in Laughlin, a trip to Hoover Dam, built in 1933, is a must see. And the infamous Las Vegas Strip! The Strip is home to dramatic architecture, the most modern hotels, casinos, and restaurants. Free attractions on The Strip include water fountains at Bellagio, the volcano at the Mirage, and Festival Fountain at Caesars Palace. Las Vegas is home to the best of entertainment, including Celine Dion & Cirque du Soleil. Fremont Street, second in popularity to The Strip and its Space Frame are a must see for kids of all ages.
